A much needed renovation is now underway on our beloved theatre. With no accessible seating options, old audio/visual systems, and stained carpets, chairs and ceiling, the theatre was well overdue for an upgrade.
Funding for the project has been sourced by various grants, a generous donation from the TD Bank Group, other donations, and a loan provided by the City of Medicine Hat. While we are grateful for the loan, we would like to complete the project with as little debt as possible.
Show your support for the Library by purchasing a name plaque on a seat when our theatre opens post-renovation.
For an investment of $125 you will have the opportunity to name one seat for yourself, for your business, or as a unique way to remember a loved one. The plaque will remain for a minimum period of 10 years.
For your contribution, you will receive an invite for you and one guest to attend a private Grand Theatre Re-Opening celebration on Friday, November 24. This exclusive event gives you the opportunity to see the brand-new theatre before anyone else! You'll also enjoy wine, cheese, music, and a humorous author talk from Terry Fallis - two time winner of the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour and winner of CBC Canada Reads in 2011.
Help us put a name plaque on every seat before our theatre reopens - please visit the library to purchase your plaque today.
Not interested in a plaque? You can still help fund our theatre renovation by donating any amount - donate online here.
