Finding Your Foundation: A Mental Health Series

Our community has recently suffered many tragic mental health-related losses. Find out how you can recognize when someone is considering suicide, and learn how to cope with life including the trauma of grief and loss during this three-part series.

We are partnering with the Canadian Mental Health Association Alberta Southeast Region (CMHA) to offer a series of Mental Health Sessions in our Library Theatre over three Saturday afternoons in November & December. Details of each presentation are below. Please register for these programs by calling 403-502-8525. Masks mandatory.

Small Talk Saves Lives

Saturday, November 14 at 2:00 pm

An hour long suicide awareness presentation focusing on how to recognize when someone might be considering suicide and how to respond. Also included is a discussion on community resources that can help and how to access them. 


Learning How To Swim

Saturday, November 28 at 2:00 pm

An hour long presentation on grief and loss. Learning to Swim focuses on understanding what grief is, different types of losses people can experience, as well as a discussion of community resources that can help those who are struggling.


Coping With Life

Saturday, December 12 at 2:00 pm

An hour long presentation on coping with all of the things life throws at us. Attendees will learn not only how to recognize stress, but also how to build resiliency in their lives to combat those stressors.
