Kollektiv Cycle Is Our Latest Library Card Sponsor!

A local spin studio has pedaled their way into our hearts as our most recent library card sponsor.

Library cards remain FREE thanks to the $2,000 sponsorship by our friends at Kollektiv Cycle

Sabrina and her Kollektiv team are such great community supporters, lending their support to organizations like APARC, the Stray Refuge Foundation, the Southern Alberta Humane Society, the Root Cellar, and now us!

They're also great motivators who know how to kick your butt on the spin bike while making you feel like you're at a party at the disco club. Download the mindbody app to book your next spin class at Kollektiv as a way to say "thank you" for their generosity in supporting literacy in our community.

Kollektiv Cycle is located in downtown Medicine Hat at 317 6 Avenue SE.

A Little Bit About Sabrina

I absolutely fell in love with spin when I was living in Calgary several years ago. Upon moving back to Medicine Hat, I found myself really missing rhythmic cycling, to the extent that I purchased a bike and tried to recreate the environment in my own basement. It was impossible to replicate the vibe and the community, and those were the aspects that I missed so much. I began obsessively researching boutique spin studios online. Then one night I decided “okay, I’ve got to do this, I’m GOING to do this." We had nothing like it in Medicine Hat and I thought that it was time that we did. Spinning and the spin community I encountered affected me in the most amazing way and I wanted to share that with others.

It’s been nothing short of amazing owning a business in my hometown. Opening up and operating a business isn’t easy, but when you do so in a community the size of Medicine Hat, and one that you were born and raised in, I feel like you have a level of support that you wouldn’t necessarily experience elsewhere. I have also found other local businesses to be incredibly supportive of one another. We all want to see each other succeed. You’ll often see partnerships and joint ventures together and I think that leads to a stronger and more cohesive community.

I love staying active so aside from cycling I enjoy golfing, paddle boarding, hiking, playing volleyball, and camping when time permits. I’m also quite social, so I enjoy spending time with friends and family and can usually be found frequenting all the amazing shops and restaurants in our beautiful downtown. I’m also obsessed with podcasts, mainly true crime. So if I don’t have music playing in the background, that’s what you’ll hear. My favourite authors are Janet Evanovich and James Patterson.

It’s incredibly important to me to give back to the community. So when a friend of mine shared the MHPL post about the library card program, I immediately wanted to be a part of it. Literacy is fundamental and should be accessible to all. This initiative ensures that for our community and we are deeply honored to support it.
