The performers have been announced and tickets are now on sale for the first two shows in Medicine Hat Public Library’s 2026-27 Home Routes Concert Series.
Scott Nolan kick off the series on Sunday, Sept. 20, followed by Bobby Dove on Tuesday, Oct. 20. Both shows start at 7 p.m.
Scott Nolan is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and poet from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Treaty One Territory. His debut poetry collection, "Moon Was a Feather," was a finalist for the Eileen McTavish Sykes Award for Best First Book. His albums include "The Suburb Beautiful," "Before Tonight," "Silverhill," "North/South," "Postcards," "No Bourbon and Bad Radio," "Receiver/Reflector," "American Hotel," and "Canadian Amplifier." His songs have been recorded by Hayes Carll, Mary Gauthier, Watermelon Slim, and Corin Raymond among others. Nolan will appear with special guest Helen White.
Bobby Dove is a Montreal-born singer-songwriter and a magnetic presence in the world of country and Americana music. With a voice as powerful as their storytelling, this trans/non-binary troubadour pays tribute to the golden age of honky-tonk, while crafting original, emotionally charged songs that “blend genres with the touch of a master.” (Mary Gauthier) In 2021 Bobby released their sophomore record, “Hopeless Romantic,” co-produced with Blue Rodeo’s Bazil Donovan and Tim Vesely of Rheostatics. The album gained international acclaim and climbed the Canadian Roots and U.S. Alt-Country radio charts.
We have a fantastic theatre space here and these concerts are one way to bring people in and show it off.
Details are still being finalized for one more Home Routes concert here before the end of this year, and more in early 2027.
