Community members are invited to mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation at Medicine Hat Public Library, where an initiative to develop Indigenous services at the library will be announced.
On Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 3-6 p.m. three teepees will be set up on the lawn outside the lower level, where various multicultural crafts and activities will be available for families to enjoy. At 6 p.m. Elder Charlie Fox of the Kainai Nation will deliver remarks and Chief Librarian Ken Feser will make the exciting announcement.
Everyone is welcome to the free event, which will further the library's goal of advancing and supporting reconciliation and the principles of reconciliation as outlined in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and other sources
