TELUS has for decades been connecting people through technology. Medicine Hat’s TELUS Community Ambassadors are striving to connect you to Medicine Hat Public Library through FREE library cards. The group is the newest sponsor of our A Library Card for Every Hatter program.
In an email, the group says it’s a simple but powerful way to remove barriers to learning and ensure everyone has access to knowledge, technology, and opportunities regardless of their circumstances.
“The TELUS Community Ambassadors are proud to support Medicine Hat Public Library and the important role it plays in our community. Partnerships like this help ensure that learning, creativity, and opportunity remain accessible to everyone in Medicine Hat,” says the group.
The group’s $1,500 donation to the program covers the cost of cards for 300 adults in Medicine Hat (kids’ cards are always free).
That the library is much more than just books is one of the reasons the group decided to donate here.
“It’s a welcoming hub where people can learn new skills, explore ideas, connect with others, and access technology and resources they might not have at home. The library connects people with knowledge, creativity, and each other. Supporting it helps strengthen the entire community,” member Fred Weinheimer says.
Noting that the library is one of the community’s most accessible resources, he encourages people to see for themselves how much the library offers today.
“Libraries aren’t just quiet reading spaces anymore—they offer events, technology, digital resources, workshops, and programs for families and individuals. Once people step through the doors, they often realize there’s something there for everyone.”
