Connecting people and groups in the community, expanding the reach of our services and continuing to be a welcoming space for everyone are among the aspirations for Medicine Hat Public Library over the next five years.
Last month, chief librarian Ken Feser and board chair Mark Kaethler presented MHPL’s 2026-2030 Plan of Service to the City of Medicine Hat’s public services committee. The strategic plan was developed following more than a year of public consultation and a wide-ranging community needs assessment and three strategic goals were established:
- Expansion – The Library will address barriers to access by expanding geographically
- Support – The Library will maintain a welcoming space for everyone
- Connection – The Library will enhance its role as a community hub by creating connections and liaising between generations, cultures, and people
Marko Atem from Rogers TV spoke with Feser and two of our patrons about the Plan of Service. See the feature below.
