Edmonton-based artist Jessica “Seeka” Tyndale brings her Seeka Sings show to the Library Theatre for two free performances (July 8, 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.). Seeka Sings is an interactive children’s musical act by promotes early education, social-emotional learning, and inclusivity through a blend of jazz, folk, pop, hip-hop, and Afro-Caribbean sounds.
Through the live show Seeka Sings and her debut TV series "Seeka's Skyway" (available on Telus Optik TV and YouTube), Seeka "champions early education, social-emotional learning, and diversity. With 20 years’ experience as a performer, four award-nominated children’s albums, and 10 years’ experience as an educator, Seeka brings a unique, engaging, and curriculum-informed approach to children’s content," reads the bio on her website.
Seeka has performed across this country and internationally at special events, festivals, libraries, and schools. Her work has secured her four Western Canadian Music Awards nominations, two Canadian Folk Music Awards nominations, one Edmonton Music Awards nomination, as well as the 2025 Edmonton Artists' Trust Fund Award.
The shows at MHPL are part of a 10-day tour of libraries in the Shortgrass Library System.
