Have you found yourself reading more now that you're practicing social distancing and isolation? Then, this contest is for you! 

In our Virtual Reading Contest you can win a local prize package which includes a copy of Glennon Doyle’s Untamed plus $20 gift cards to each of these local businesses: Swirls, Station Coffee Co., McBrides Bakery, Skinny’s Smokehouse, and Medicine Hat Brew Co.

The contest will remain open until the library officially reopens to the public, at which point we will draw one lucky winner.

Note: This Virtual Reading Contest is for adults. If you have a child ages 10 - 18 at home, they can enter our Teen Virtual Readathon


How to Enter

  1. Read a book!

  2. Sign into your account on Bibliocommons

  3. Use the search bar to look for the book you've read 

  4. Click the book cover to go to it's page

  5. Scroll down to the Community Activity section and leave a comment with your review of 50 words or more

  6. Fill out our Virtual Reading Contest Form


What You Need for the Form

  1. Library barcode

  2. Your Bibliocommons account username

  3. Phone Number

  4. Email

  5. The URL to the comment you posted. You can find the URL by clicking on this link at the bottom of your comment on Bibliocommons (see photo for example). 

Note: If you need your library barcode or PIN number, give our staff a call at 403-502-8525, Monday - Friday from 10am - 5pm.


Rules

  1. Submissions cannot include books read prior to May 1st

  2. Submissions cannot be children's books

  3. Must fill out the online form in its entirety

We always love a chance to celebrate one of our own.Marlene Balser has worked at MHPL since the summer of 1981, when she was hired for the reference desk. She’s still helping patrons at the reference desk downstairs, and can also be found guiding patrons through the library edition of Ancestry and hosting activities for adults with developmental delays.
