Easy access to books is what we’re all about here and it’s doesn’t get any easier than the Little Free Libraries (LFL) that are scattered all over the city. Located in people’s yards and in greenspaces across Medicine Hat, they’re a very simple honour system-type library that doesn’t that doesn’t require users to have a library card, and there are no overdue fees.
We received questions a couple of times this summer about LFL locations, and the best we could do was point people to this BiblioFiles Blog post from 2021. So, we knew we had to update it and turned to you for help in our Sept. 2 newsletter. Within a couple of days, we had almost a dozen emails, and more trickled in since. We also got another handful of emails after a social media post on Sept. 14.
Thank you to everyone who emailed about one, and please keep them coming. With your help we will get this list updated in the next month or so and have a new blog post and list available in October.
If you know where there is a Little Free Library, please email the address/location to Chris at [email protected]. Chris will check the ones on the old blog post and update the status of any that are no longer in use.
