Volunteer Position – Masterpiece Southland Meadows



This is a position that requires a once-a-month commitment where the volunteer is to facilitate a book exchange for Masterpiece Southland Meadows Retirement Residence. The description which outlines the duties and requirements is as follows:



Hours of volunteerism:   2 hours a month (est.) 

                    4th Wednesday of the month    

                                                Exchange hours: 10:00 am to 11:00 am


Duties:

  • Volunteer(s) will need to pick up the bins of books from the library and arrive at the Masterpiece Retirement Residence before the indicated time. 
  • Volunteer(s) will note down which books are returned and which are borrowed, as well as any requests. 
  • Volunteer(s) will return the shipment to the library after the indicated time. 


Requirements:

  • Clear record check, including the vulnerable sector
  • Access to a vehicle that can carry 4-6 bins of books
  • Ability to lift 10 kg
  • Ability to stand for periods of time
  • Reliability and clear communication

Volunteer Position – South Country Village



This is a position that requires a two-day commitment per month where the volunteer is to drop off and pick up a shipment of books. The description which outlines the duties and requirements is as follows:



Hours of volunteerism:  2 hours a month (est.)      

                                               First Monday and following Wednesday of the month


*Please note that Wednesday may be switched to Thursday if needed


Duties:

  • Volunteer(s) will need to pick up the bins of books from the library on Monday before 5:00 pm and drop them off at South Country Village. 
  • Volunteer(s) will need to pick up the bins of books from South Country Village on Wednesday after 4:30 pm and drop them off at the library.


Requirements:

  • Clear record check, including the vulnerable sector
  • Access to a vehicle that can carry 6-8 bins of books
  • Ability to lift 10 kg
  • Reliability and clear communication

Volunteer Position – Medicine Hat Care Community (Sienna Senior Living)



This is a position that requires a two-day commitment per month where the volunteer is to drop off and pick up a shipment of books. The description which outlines the duties and requirements is as follows:



Hours of volunteerism:  2 hours a month (est.)      

                                               Monday preceding and Wednesday following the 2nd Tuesday of the month

                                               Between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm



Duties:

  • Volunteer(s) will need to pick up the bins of books from the library on Monday and drop them off at Medicine Hat Care Community between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. 
  • Volunteer(s) will need to pick up the bins of books from Medicine Hat Care Community on Wednesday and drop them off at the library between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.


Requirements:

  • Access to a vehicle that can carry 4-6 bins of books
  • Ability to lift 10 kg
  • Reliability and clear communication
