For our Tweens (ages 10 - 12) we have a monthly Tween Night program at the Library and a special Tween Zone inside the Kinsmen Children's Library.

OBOS is back! This year, we're reading Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus by Dusti Bowling (winner of the YRCA 2020 Intermediate category). Read the book by borrowing a physical or electronic copy (e-book or e-audiobook) from us, then enter to win a $100 MH Mall gift card from July 2nd - August 31st!
Check out our cool promo video about the book and program!

Stagecoach Pass, the amusement park in "Insignificant Events in the Life of Cactus," doesn't have a roller coaster attraction, so we want you to create your own roller coaster design by creating a Marble Run! You can use any materials you like (cardboard tubes and boxes for example), and it can be any size! But a marble must be able to travel from the top to the bottom of your Marble Run.
From July 2-31st, share your video and/or pictures of your marble run to us on Instagram or upload them to your Google Drive account and email them to firstname.lastname@example.org and you will be entered to win a Summer Fun Pack full of books and goodies!
Example Marble Run:

Coming August 2020!
Download your BINGO card for the month of July and complete the activities to make a BINGO! From July 2-31st, submit your BINGO to us to be entered to win one of two $25 Coles and EB Games gift cards! You can submit multiple, unique, BINGO's throughout the month.

Introducing: Our own virtual summer reading game called THE WHEEL... OF... READING!!!
We want to help make reading FUN with our new virtual summer reading game, The Wheel of Reading! Since we couldn't offer our regular Monoporead game this year, we created this online version as a way to get you excited about borrowing new books. We encourage you to play often, up to once per day. Schedule a no-contact pick-up to get the recommended reads that the wheel suggests or come in during open hours.
If you need a little demo on how to get started, watch this short video.
Check out the virtual programs we've been recording by visiting our MHPL Youtube Channel. We think you'll particularly enjoy the LEGO in the time of social distancing, Eggstreme Tween Easter Craft, fidget spinner craft, and duct tape bookmark craft.
