Reading Quest
July 2nd – Aug 31st; Children’s Desk 
Embark on a summer of reading with the Reading Quest! Set a daily reading goal, track your progress, and earn collectible trading cards as you go. For every three days you complete your goal, visit the library to collect a new card and enter a ballot for the grand prize each month. July trackers can be picked up between June 29 - July 10. August trackers will be available for pick up between July 27 - August 7. 

The Wheel of Reading
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, July 7th – Aug 20th; Children’s Library 
 
Come in during regular hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to spin the Wheel of Reading! Let the wheel decide your next great read and win prizes along the way, courtesy of the TD Summer Reading Club. 

DIY Vision Boards
Monday, July 6th from 2:00 – 3:00 PM; Honor Currie Room 
Calling all tweens with big dreams! Vision boards are a mixed-media collage of images, words and reminders that help you imagine the kind of life you want to lead and guide you towards everything you want to achieve in life. So, come down to the library to make your own vision boards, and get one step closer to making those dreams come true!  Online registration is required.

Family Pokémon Card Trading
Tuesday, July 7th from 2:00 – 3:00 PM; Honor Currie Room 
 
No need to travel across the land, or search far and wide - if you want to catch them all, just come on down to the library! Families with children 12 and under can drop in to trade cards and make a quick craft. Craft will be available while supplies last. A parent or adult caregiver must be present at all times during this program.

Seeka Sings
Wednesday, July 8th from 10:30 – 11:30 AM & 1:00 – 2:00 PM; Theatre 
Seeka Sings is an interactive children’s musical act by Edmonton-based artist Jessica “Seeka” Tyndale. Seeka Sings promotes early education, social-emotional learning, and inclusivity through a blend of jazz, folk, pop, hip-hop, and Afro-Caribbean sounds. We kindly request that families attend only one performance to allow everyone to enjoy the shows.

Dungeons & Dragons for Beginners
Thursdays, July 9th & 23rd from 2:00 – 3:00 PM; Legion Room 
Did you watch “Stranger Things” and think that Dungeons & Dragons looked really fun, but don’t know how to get started?  This program will teach you everything you need to know about the world’s most popular roleplaying game. Online registration is required.

Family Craft: Library Card Holders
Monday, July 13th from 2:00 – 3:00 PM; Honor Currie Room 
Pop in to create your very own library card holder. All supplies will be provided, just bring your library card and creativity! 

Tween Night: Mario Kart
Thursday, July 16th from 6:00 – 7:00 PM; Honor Currie Room 
Race to the library for a super tween Mario Kart night! Test your mettle against your competitors and see if you have what it takes to come out on top—just watch out for blue shells! Online registration is required.

All-Ages Trivia

It's trivia night at the library! Bring a team or play by yourself in this ultimate test of general knowledge. All ages welcome! Online registration is required.

Drop-In Perler Beads

Deep Sea Scavenger Hunt
August 24th – 29th; Children’s Library 
End the summer with a search through the children’s library for 12 hidden sea characters. Find them all, then stop by the desk to claim a prize.

International Overdose Awareness Day Community Event
Friday, August 31st from 4:00 – 7:00 PM; Library Grounds
Join us for Medicine Hat’s 9th annual International Overdose Awareness Day community event, featuring a free BBQ at 5 pm, reflection stations, information and resource tables, indigenous drumming and dancing, Naloxone training, an open mic, and community art collaboration. All ages are welcome as we remember and honour those gone too soon.
