MHPL's Online Language Learning Platform Changing

The switch will take place this summer
Posted on 23 May 2025 by Chris Brown.

A change is coming to how Medicine Hat Public Library patrons will be able to learn new languages.

Since 2014, a language learning platform has been offered to libraries in a provincial e-resource suite through the provincial Public Library Services Branch (PSLB). For the past seven years the chosen resource has been Pronunciator and its accompanying mobile app, Bluebird Languages.

This summer, the PLSB will move to a new language learning platform. The name of the new platform can’t be revealed yet, but more information is expected in the coming weeks.

A gap in service is anticipated during the transition period, as libraries are no longer under the Pronunciator platform. We apologize for any inconvenience.
